Metamako hardware leverages FPGA technology to deliver hybrid multi-layer switches capable of running high-performance, low-latency applications.  FPGA application developers can utilize the same platform to deliver their performance critical applications.

Metamako switches contain the latest FPGA modules and provide ultra-low latency 5 nanosecond layer 1 switching between network ports and 3 nanoseconds from front panel to FPGA.

Metamako FPGA Platform - Advantages

Simplified Stack One device houses your FPGA(s), x86 server and Layer 1 switch ensuring that all hardware components work in sync, significantly reducing development time and errors.
Highest possible performance Directly connecting FPGAs to the network streams gives unlimited performance possibilities - with nearly zero overhead to the network fabric. When connected via short cables, trading systems, machine learning algorithms, security analysis or big data analytics run deterministically, at line rate, and with the lowest possible latency.
Integrated with existing FPGA Tools Platform specific adapters for programming the FPGA are embedded within Metamako devices, allowing for a quick and easy access by your FPGA development tools to the device. Connect to the Metamako device over the network using all your usual development tools. No complicated frameworks - remotely develop on the FPGA(s)with ease.
Layer 1+ Crosspoint Functionality All core Metamako layer 1 functionality such as market scalable broadcast, connection monitoring, remote patching, tapping, timestamping, per-port network statistics, SNMP, tcpdump and deterministic port-to-FPGA latency of just 3 nanoseconds, can be leveraged. For example clients can take in a multicast feed, replicate it out to your core infrastructure and route directly to the FPGA all on the same device with no additional overhead.
SFP Agnostic

The layer 1+ switch functionality in Metamako is agnostic, which saves FPGA developers time and effort in having to interface with lots of different types of SFPs.

Feature Rich

Enterprise features such as access control, syslog, SNMP, packet stats, tcpdump, JSON RPC API,time series data, streaming telemetry and more, are included as standard within the Metamako platform, avoiding the need to build these features in-house and reducing time to market.

Metamako's platform includes a built-in application infrastructure allowing developers to wrap applications into simple packages for deployment, streamlining operational processes.

Enterprise-Ready

The Metamako FPGA platform integrates with Metamako's network operating system (MOS) which allows network engineers to deploy FPGA applications with ease

E-Series devices

Metamako's E-Series devices can include up to three of either the Xilinx Kintex® UltraScale™ FPGA's or the Virtex® UltraScale+™ FPGA's. E-Series devices can be upgraded to include either an OCXO or a Rubidium clock module.
